Upstate New York was blessed with plenty of water bodies and plenty of rain. As you travel through the state you can enjoy the lush deep green surrounding you.
Those who lived in the estates along the Hudson river sure knew how to live well. Imagine waking up to this view every morning.. it has to be a good day with such a view!
This lush green scenary can be found at Lyndhurst, a Gothic Revival-style mansion along with a 67 park-like acres that includes 16 structures, all along the Hudson River. You can tour the house and stroll the gardens with its Rose Garden, fern garden, rock garden, specimen trees, the now aged lindens for which the property was named.
It's about an hour drive from New York City and can be done as a day trip.
